A Record-Breaking Season Comes to an End

The Celtics had a good run but their season came to an end this Wednesday in Miami. Ray led Boston in scoring with 18 points and 5 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough down the line and the Heat were able to edge out the Celtics in the final minutes to move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

This has been a great season despite this loss, and of course it was a meaningful season for Ray Allen. This was the season in which Ray Allen broke the NBA all-time 3-point record, on February 10th in a home game against long time rivals the LA Lakers. Ray wraps up this season with 2,612 3-pointers and no sign of slowing down. An impressive feat that has no indication of being rivaled any time soon.

This season the Celtics battled through constant injuries and trades that led to a Celtics team in the post-season that looked just similar to the unstoppable team we saw earlier in the year. Despite all this, the core of the team along with the many new additions played some great basketball, swept the Knicks in the first round and gave the Miami heat’s more youthful big 3 a run for their money.

Ray would like to thank all the fans who have kept the faith all season long and who eagerly await seeing the C’s step foot back on the court next fall.

I would like to repeat 1 of my latest comments regarding this particular group of men (Ray,KG,The Truth,Rondo & Coach Rivers) “This Is It” when it comes to this group to get that 2nd championship. Just like the great Michael Jackson’s last live taped performance. “This Is It”…Shut them down guys & get that ring!!! Show the critics, haters and all other teams what TRUE CHAMPIONS ARE MADE OF AND HOW THEY WIN….GO GREEN!!!!!!

  2. You Were awesome in the 76ers game that is why you are the best player

Go Green! Get #2. I’ve been a fan of yours Ray ever since you days at UConn, I’ve been a fan of KG since his days in Minnesota and a fan of Paul since Kansas!! So for me watching the 3 of you together on the same team is MAJOR for me. It will be a sad day for me when all of you are no longer together on 1 team. So I am going to enjoy the rest of this season watching you guys try to get #2!!! you all deserve it!! you guys set a superb example of professionalism, team work and trust.!!

  4. you are the best player in the world

I’m not sure if you read these or not, but like everyone else is saying, I’m probably the biggest fan. I admit, I’ve stalked you and I know the names of your kids šŸ˜› Okay that might’ve sounded slightly creepy.
ANYWAY, you’re my idol. I’m female and I shoot 3s and that has gained me a lot of respect from my guy friends. All I have to say is that you’re my inspiration and my BIGGEST dream would be to watch you draining those threes at a live match at TD Garden. I’m actually saving up for that since I live across the globe. I’m hoping for an 18th banner and to experience that proud moment with other Celtics fans. And daaayumm, Jesus Shuttlesworth, you got game! And I love that whenever they zoom into your face during games on TV, you’re chewing gum šŸ˜› Definitely your signature.

    Love you RayRay! (K)

Ray, ever since I can ever remember I have been a huge basketball fan. I have watched and played basketball from a very young age and I must admit, out of every basketball player ever you are hands down my favorite. From your picture perfect shot to your astonishing athletic ability you are an all around amazing basketball player. Words can’t describe how great you are at the game. However, it’s what you do off the court that is incomparable, what you do with your Ray Of Hope Foundation from golf tournaments to fundraisers for young children with nothing but a dream. In that way, you truly are a man among boys. It’s not just about 2,561 or the Basketball Hall of Fame for you, its about what you can do to make this world a better place. The amount of respect, dignity and heart you show on and off the court is an amount no one will ever match. It’s people like you that make everyone else think anything is possible. The way you show respect to fans, friends and family as well as your work ethic is unimaginable. You are living proof that hard work pays off. Now I know I will never be a professional athlete, I probably won’t ever have more than just enough money nor will I ever become rich or famous but you continue to be an inspiration to me, you continue to some how give me motivation to get up, go to work, go to school simply so I can be as successful as God will allow me to be. Now I know you will probably never read this message but if there is any chance you do, trust me when I say you are my idol, my inspiration and my hero. I wish you nothing but the best of luck for the remaining years of your career. I know I’m not the only fan that feels like this, you have touched so many fans just by being Ray Allen. Continue to be an inspiration not only as a player but as a person too.

P.S, I wish the best for your family and a healthy and long life for your son Walker. Who knows, maybe one day I will be watching him play in a Celtics uniform!

  11. AJ says:

Screw all the Ray Allen haters! RAY ALLEN IS AMAZING, SOME PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHAT TRUE BASKETBALL IS!! RAY ALLEN HAS MORE THAN JUST 3 POINTERS UP HIS SLEEVE. HES GOT A HEART! PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HATIN!
Hey when you and the rest of the celtics win the finals next year, i dont wanna see people who hated ray start liking him. it just doesn’t make any sense
