The Record is Dead, Long Live the Record!

It’s official, super-fans. Ray Allen is the All-Time NBA 3-Point Record Holder, and the record has as almost as much endurance as Ray himself. The closest active NBA player to Ray’s record is Jason Kidd, a guaranteed hall-of-famer who is nearly 1,000 trifectas short of the record himself. Yes, records are meant to be broken, but this one is sure to last a while.

We at RayAllen20.com aren’t the only ones celebrating Ray’s 3-point Crowning. Leading up to the record there has been plenty of press and fanfare, so we’ve collected some of the highlights of that coverage before and since the record was broken:

Dan Hartel’s collection of legendary Celtics shooters on Bleacher Report features Ray on the front page.

David Aldridge’s takes a detailed look at the final lead-up to the record on NBA.com, complete with a great video compilation of Ray’s shooting history.

Ray gets interviewed on Hang Time with David Amber on NBA.com, on the subject of his impending record.

Jordan Brand has put together a great video commemorating this record, with some insight on the event from Ray.

Check back soon for even more pomp, and if you just gotta congratulate Ray (Go ahead it’ll make you feel better) leave a comment below.
