Ray Allen & The Celtics Sweep Round 1

In the photo above: Ray is congratulated by members of the NY Knicks after the Celtics win Game 4.

Outstanding all-around play from this Boston Celtics team has earned them a week’s respite to rest-up and continue to improve chemistry among the newer teammates. Ray continues to defy modern scientific thought on the subject of aging, constantly running off screens and providing a dogged defensive effort, like the shark he’s proven himself to be in a long history of spectacular post-season play.

What follows is a list of playoffs teams that have swept their opponent in this offseason so far:

  • Boston Celtics

That’s a short list, and depending on the outcome of tonight’s OKC-DEN game, it could stay that short. The Celtics are a tough veteran team, and only seemed to improve their chemistry through Round 1. Fans of Ray and the Celtics all over the world eagerly await the beginning of Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs, where they’ll presumably face the Miami Heat and the Bizarro Big 3, a team the Celtics have the advantage over in their regular season matchups.

There are two schools of thought concerning having extra downtime between series. Will the team show up for round 2 rested up or rusted up? About the extra rest afforded them by the 4-game sweep, Ray had this to say “You could look at it either way, but I think for us the rest is good.”
